FAQ
Short answers to the questions merchants ask most, with links to the longer version.
Setup
I installed the app and nothing happens. You still need to enable the theme app embed. This is the single most common issue — here is how.
Why does Qpushly show its own invite instead of the browser’s prompt? Because a browser only lets you ask once, ever, and a shopper who blocks notifications can never be asked again. Asking with our own invite first means the browser prompt is only spent on people who already said yes — and Safari refuses a prompt that did not come from a click anyway. You can turn the invite off and ask only from your own button. Settings.
Do I need a developer? No. Installing and enabling the embed are both point-and-click. The only optional code is a one-line attribute if you want a “Notify me” button in a specific place.
Will it slow my storefront down? The embed adds three small deferred scripts. They do not block rendering, and there are no third-party fonts, images or trackers.
Can I use it alongside another push app? You should not. Two push apps on one storefront produce duplicate notifications and untrustworthy numbers in both. Remove the old one — details.
Subscribers
Do shoppers give an email address? No. That is the point of push. Email addresses appear on a subscriber only where your own Shopify order data supplies one.
Why is my subscriber count higher than my customer count? A subscriber is a browser, not a person — laptop plus phone is two. See The subscriber list.
Can I see who unsubscribed? No, and no push tool can. When a shopper blocks notifications, their browser does not tell your store. Those subscribers stay in your list but stop being deliverable.
Can I import my email list? No. A push subscription can only be created by the shopper’s own browser. Email contacts have to opt in from your storefront.
Can I import from another push provider? Yes, via CSV — but expect some endpoints to be dead already. How.
Sending
Why did my scheduled campaign go out a few minutes late? Scheduled work runs on a sweep every ten minutes. Schedule fifteen minutes early if the exact moment matters. More.
How often should I send? Two to four campaigns a month for most stores, plus whatever the automations send. Push is more intrusive than email and the penalty for over-sending is permanent — a blocked shopper cannot be won back from inside the app.
Can I set quiet hours? There is no quiet-hours setting. Control it by choosing when you schedule, and check your subscribers’ timezone spread in the subscriber list.
How many reminders can an automation have? Three. The limit is deliberate. Why.
Can I segment by purchase history or spend? No. Segmentation is by browser, OS and device — attributes of the subscription, not the customer.
Numbers
Does “impressions” mean shoppers saw it? No — delivered to the browser. Clicks are your only real engagement signal.
Why is attributed revenue lower than I expect? Every gap in attribution pushes the number down: the click tag expires after about 30 minutes, lives on one device, and can be dropped by a theme that rebuilds the cart. Treat it as a floor. Full explanation.
Qpushly and my email tool both claim the same order. Both are right by their own model. Do not add them together.
Devices
Does it work on iPhone? Only if the shopper has added your store to their home screen — Apple’s rule, not ours. Most iPhone traffic will never see the prompt.
Which browsers work? Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Samsung Internet on desktop and Android; Safari on macOS. Details.
Billing
How am I charged? Through Shopify, on your normal Shopify invoice. Qpushly never handles a card. More.
Can I cancel myself? Yes, from Shopify’s plan page. No need to contact support.
What happens to my data if I uninstall? Credentials go immediately; everything else is deleted when Shopify sends the shop-redaction request.
A shopper asked me for their data — what do I do? Open Apps → Qpushly → Data requests, download the JSON and send it on. Qpushly assembles it for you when Shopify forwards the request. Walkthrough.

often each cause turns out to be the real one. If you still need us, include your
myshopify.com domain and whether the theme embed is enabled on your live theme.
