Getting Started

Quickstart

From a fresh install to your first subscriber and your first send, in about ten minutes.

This walks the shortest path to something working. It assumes you have installed the app and enabled the theme embed.

1 · Set your notification defaults · 2 min

Qpushly → Settings.

Fill in three fields:

  • Store display name — the name shoppers see as the sender.
  • Contact email — where push services reach you about delivery problems.
  • Default notification icon URL — the small square image on every notification. Use a square logo, at least 192×192px. Without one, browsers show a generic bell.

Save. While you are here, check the Web Push card shows a key — that means your store’s signing keypair has been generated. It is created automatically; you never handle it.

2 · Become your own first subscriber · 1 min

Open your storefront in a normal browser window and accept the notification prompt. Then check Qpushly → Subscribers — you should be there.

3 · Switch on welcome notifications · 3 min

Qpushly → Automations → Welcome Notifications → Create Reminder.

  • Notification Title — short. Around 40 characters is what most browsers show before truncating.
  • Message — one or two lines. Say what they just signed up for and what they get.
  • Delay Time — leave it low for the first reminder.
  • Button text / link — optional, but a button raises the click rate. Point it at a collection, not your homepage.
  • Status — set it to active.

Save. New subscribers now get this automatically.

Example that works:

Title: You’re on the list Message: We’ll ping you when new pieces drop and when sold-out sizes come back. First order? Use WELCOME10. Button: Shop new in → /collections/new

4 · Switch on abandoned cart recovery · 3 min

Qpushly → Automations → Abandoned Cart Recovery.

Create one reminder to start with. A cart counts as abandoned after ten minutes of inactivity, and your delay is measured from that point.

Then add a second reminder at a longer delay if the first does not land. Three is the maximum.

Do not write all three now. Get one working, see what it earns, then extend.

5 · Send a campaign · 2 min

Qpushly → Campaigns → create a campaign.

  • Campaign title — internal name; also used as the notification title.
  • Description — the notification body.
  • Campaign URL — where a click lands. Use a real collection or product URL.
  • Image — optional. A wide product shot works better than a logo here.
  • Target audience and Campaign type — leave the defaults for a first test.
  • Publish time — send now.

You should get the notification within about a minute.

6 · Check the numbers · 1 min

Back on the Dashboard you now have four tiles — revenue generated, subscribers, campaigns sent, impressions — plus a subscriber-growth chart you can switch between 7, 15, 30 and 60 days.

The campaign you just sent shows its own impressions and clicks under Campaigns. Revenue only appears once a notification click leads to an actual order — see Campaign results for how that is matched.

What to do in week one

  1. Add a data-qpushly-subscribe button to your sold-out product pages (how). This is usually the single biggest change to subscriber growth.
  2. Switch on back in stock — it needs no copywriting effort and it sends to people who have already told you they want the product.
  3. Leave browse abandonment and price drop until you have enough subscribers for the numbers to mean anything.
